What you Need to know about the word ‘Free’ online
Most people get very excited about the word ‘free’ while some people are put off because of their experiences.
The word free is related to a number of services and products on the Internet such as: free stuff or freebies, credit, money, products and web services. Others include Shopping vouchers, web space and web tools, video, music and more. Now what is free stuff all about? Why do businesses give out freebies? Let's take a look at the whole context now.
Free Stuff
In my own opinion, the word ‘free’ when it comes to buying and selling is quite a mile from the dictionary meaning of free. In most cases, when you make a purchase, or promise to make a purchase you get something in return. Sometimes you are offered free services or products which will encourage you to purchase more services or products in the near future. For instance, In the UK, what we have on the high streets or supermarkets are mostly 'buy one get one free' or get a half free, and a variety or seasonal sales up to 70% discount or more! We will take a look at the following points:

The Typical ‘Free Stuff’ Business
The most common freebies around the net and outside include: free demo, free price quotation, free tour, free e-books, free newsletter, Trial versions, Vouchers, cash backs, Freeware, discounts and more.
To be exact, all these are promotional weapons or tools if you choose to call them that, which are essential for businesses.
Things have improved over the years( with regards to getting something free), now you can get ‘free’ services or products on the net without actually purchasing anything.
Who is Gaining?
The seller and the buyer (or the consumer as the case may be), both stands to gain something. A consumer’s frustration comes in when you think that something is free as in the real ‘free’ and some conditions are being dangled in your face before you can get it. This becomes distasteful especially when you can't meet those conditions.
Most times when you get software that is proclaimed free, it turns out to be just a juicy appetizer to get you very hungry for a full or unlimited version. The good news is that you can actually get 100% good quality free services or products online. Good examples are free version of software or scripts, web services such as free website space and emailing. Other sources include Public Domain stuff; for instance, Public Domain music, books, freeware and so on.
Why then must a Potential Buyer go for Free Stuff?
Despite the fact that the word ‘free’ has been misused so frequently, I think the world has been a market place since it was created.
It is a give and take world. Speaking from experience, I have benefited from free e-books, free software, and promotional items and free whatever. In most cases, I had needed to go back and make a purchase or even another purchase and of course the seller got my money.
The question is did I gain anything? In most cases I did, on few occasions; I got a better bargain elsewhere before committing myself.
So what? The insatiability of man’s needs makes it necessary to buy and buy every now and then. I feel it is better to get a little something back than nothing when you spend your money! For instance getting some cash back is cool. Shopping vouchers help you to save some money. Good sites in UK are Britishrewards and Uk High street voucher site.
A Note of Advice: before you purchase anything on the web, please browse and browse again. You may find it completely free somewhere else.
