What is Insurance
We face risks everyday; the risk of accidents, the risk of loosing a job, loss of personal belongings, death in the family, and a wide range of other expected misfortune.

The money you pay for your insurance to the insurance company is called a premium. The payment is usually a recurring payment at certain intervals over a period of time.

Life Insurance - this is an amount of money paid to the insured's dependants in the event of the death of the Insured. This is also known as life assurance. A life insurance may also be paid to the insured after an agreed period of years if the insured is still living on the maturity date stated on the policy. It may also be paid to a beneficiary on the stated date if the policyholder died before the date of maturity. This type of life insurance policy is also known as an endowment policy.

Home Insurance- home insurance policies are insurance against sudden misfortune that has to do with the home. These include accidental damage to the content of the home or the physical building, or any structure on the property, fire or theft. This insurance is sometimes referred to as the homeowner insurance.

Pet Insurance - is a policy that protects your pets such as dogs and cats. Depending on the policy, the insurance may help pay expenses such as surgery bills. It may also cover damage caused by your pet or if the pet gets stolen.

Accident Insurance - This insurance covers you in the case of accidents. This may cover total physical damage or disability, partial physical damage or disability, hospital bills and death.

Travel Insurance - This may cover the insured for unexpected cancellation or interruption of their travel, damage or loss of property or delays while traveling, accidents, medical emergencies and other unfortunate events that occurring during the travel.

Health Insurance - This may also be referred to as medical insurance. The insurance may cover medical cost or bills from accidents or certain illness included in the policy.

Unemployment Insurance - unemployment insurance is a temporary income paid to an unemployed person depending on eligibility. This is usually paid from funds accumulated by a government body or the employer or the employee.
